Expect more from Badminton Asia in the wake of the highly successful inaugural Robot Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships being held in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam.
In the pipeline is an Asian Badminton League which could take off by the end of this year if things go well.

Also among the future "happenings" are Beach Badminton, Asian Seniors and Three On Three Badminton.

Although still in the planning stage, the above mentioned future "happenings" could also take off by the year's end.

Badminton Asia has embarked on massive promotions to promote and bring the shuttle sport to Asian countries.

The Asian body wants to create a "different flavour" for its affiliates for a wider participation base with a "feel good" factor for families so that they can take up the sport seriously.

"We will set our own rules to get sponsors who will benefit and get the mileage from such different flavour events," said Bambang Roedyanto," Badminton Asia's chair of events.

The on-going Robot Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships received an overwhelming response with 13 countries taking part. The countries are China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, India, Malaysia, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and the Philippines.
