Badminton Asia keen to host Racket Sports Science Conference

Bangkok played host to the 6th World Congress of Racket Sports Science, which drew 150 participants from 30 countries, at the Arnoma Grand Hotel, from May 25-26.


Among those who attended the Congress was Badminton Asia's Development Manager Mr Thana Arikrishnan who was very impressed with the wide-ranging topics that came under the spotlight in Bangkok.


"It is amazing so many researchers trying to find better ways to develop and enhance the sport of badminton.


"Badminton Asia is also looking forward to organizing one of the Racket Sports Science Conference in the near future," said Thana.


The Congress attracted scientists, coaches, medical doctors, psychologists, physiotherapists and others interested in racket sports research.


The guests of honour at the Congress were Thailand Badminton Association president Khunying Patama Leeswadtrakul and Badminton World Federation (BWF) president Poul-Erik Hoyer.


The Co-Chairs were International Table Tennis Federation's Miran Koudric (Faculty of Sports, University of Ljubljana) and David Cabello of Badminton World Federation (Faculty of Sports Science, University of Granada).
