Thai singles players are topseeds in Asian Junior Championships
THAILAND'S Kantaphon Wangcharoen and Pornpawee Chochuwong are the top seeds in the boys' and girls' individual events respectively in the forthcoming Under-19 Asian Junior Badminton championships to be held in Bangkok from July 9-17.
India's Chirag Sen is seeded second in the boys event while Japan's Koki Watanabe is the third seed with Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia, the Dutch Junior Open winner, seeded No 4 followed by Thailand's Pachaarapol Nipornram and Korakit Loatrakul seeded No 5 and No 6 respectively.
The other seeds in the boys' singles are Taiwan's Chia Hao Lee (No 7), China's Sun Fexiang (No 8), Singapore's Ryan Ng (No 9), Kandis Wanaron (No 10), with Muhammad Zulkifli Ramadhani of Indonesian (No 11), Kittipong Imnark (Thailand, No 12), Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo (Indonesia, No 13) followed by Malaysia's Leong Jun Hao, Lakshya Sen (India), Mark Shelley Alcala (Philippines) seeded 14, 15 and 16 respectively.
Malaysia's reigning world junior champion Goh Jin Wei is seeded No 2 in the girls' individual event followed by China's Chen Yufei at No 3, Indonesia's Gregoria Mariska (No 4), Natsuki Nidaira (No 5) and Gai Fangjie (China) and Pattarasuda Chaiwan (Thailand) seeded 7 and 8 respectively.
China's He Jiting-Tan Qiang are the top seeds in the boys doubles with Thailand's Pakin Kuna Anuvit-Natthapat Trinkajee seeded No 2 with China's Han Chengkai-Zhao Haodong the third seeds.
Indonesians Ramadiansyah Andika-Rinov Rivaldy and Thailand's Warit Sarapat-Panachai Worasaktyanan are seeded fourth and fifth respectively with India's Krishna Prasad Garaga-Dhruv Kapila and China's Fan Qiuyue-Xiangyu Ren at No 7 and 8.
The girls' top seeds are Indonesia's Apriani Rahayu-Jauza Fadhila Sigiarto and Hong Kong's Ng Tsz Yau-Yeung Ng Ting seeded second. Third seeds are Chinese pair Du Yue-Xu Ya and another Indonesian pair Mychelle Crhystine Bandaso-Serena Kani at No 4.
Chinese, Thai and Indonesian players occupy the top four places in the mixed doubles. He Jiting-Du Yue are the top seeds followed by Thailand's Pakin Kuna Anuvit-Kwanchanok Sudjaipraparut, Rinov Rivaldy-Apriani Rahayu and Pachaarapol Nipornram-Ruethaichanok Laisuan (Thailand).
In the mixed team event defending champions are the top seeds followed by Thailand, Indonesia, Japan and India with Malaysia seeded No 6. China have won the team event in the last three editions by beating Korea each time in the final. Korea are seeded eighth.
