There was no stopping China in the World Junior Championships as they roared to their 12th Suhandinata Cup title with a 3-1 win over Malaysia in the final at the Among Rogo Arena in Yogjakarta on Saturday.

China, however, had to come back from a one match deficit after losing the opening tie - the mixed doubles pair Fan Qiuyue-Li Wenmei losing to Man Wei Chong-Pearly Tan Koong Le 21-12, 9-21, 21-17 in a 44-minute encounter.

The Chinese, however, were undeterred with the early set back and China head coach Wang Wei who was confident that his team will retain the title they won last year with a 3-0 whitewash of Malaysia in the final in Bilbao, Spain, was all smiles when Gao Zhengze made it 1-1 with an easy win in the men's singles.

Zhengze outplayed Asian Junior Under-19 champion  Leong Jun Hao in straight games 21-14, 21-18in 38 minutes. The Chinese confidence was boosted while it was the opposite for the Malaysians.

China surged to a 2-1 lead through their men's doubles Fan Qiuyue-Wang Chang who carved out a hard fought 21-19, 21-17 victory over Chang Yee Jun-Ng Eng Cheong in only 34 minutes.

Badminton Asia Junior Under-19 champion Han Yue was the toast of China - clinching the winning point with a three-game 21-16, 20-22., 21-8 win over Malaysia's Sea Games champion Goh Jin Wei in 57 minutes.

Still, it was a commendable effort from the Malaysians who had whitewashed top seeds South Korea 3-0 in the semi-finals. China beat Japan 3-1 in the other semi-final.
