The Best of Asia: Yeo Jia Min

Singaporean women’s single’s, Yeo Jia Min, made history as the first badminton player from Singapore to qualify for the BWF World Tour Finals. She is currently ranked #17 in the BWF World Rank. 


At such a young age, she fell in love with badminton and wanted to become a good player. She began to practice more intensely and seriously to achieve her dream.


In 2015, she won two championships in the Badminton Asia U17 and U15 Junior Championships. In 2017, she won the bronze medal at the 2017 Asian Junior Championships against Pattarasuda Chaiwan from Thailand.


Throughout her journey, she was a part of the national team that won bronze in the women's team in the 2015, 2017, and 2019 Southeast Asian Games. In June 2017, Yeo Jia Min was ranked World Junior #1 in the girls' singles category. She also competed in the Commonwealth Games in 2018 and the Summer Olympics in 2020. 


Previously, she won the gold medal at the 2019 Hyderabad Open against Korea's An Seyoung and the 2018 Vietnam Open against China's Han Yue. Her most recent achievement is a silver medal at the 2021 Hylo Open in Germany where she competed against Thailand's Busanan Ongbamrungphan. 

After a series of strong performances in the Hylo Open 2021, she qualified for the BWF World Tour Finals 2021 in Bali.

Yeo Jia Min is undoubtedly one of Asia's top players, and we look forward to watching her achieve even greater success!
