Top seeds Tzu Ying and Sindhu in Hong Kong Open semis

Lin Dan is out of the Yonex-Sunrise Hong Kong Open superseries after he was shown the exit in the quarter-finals by his young compatriot Shi Yuqi on Friday.
Shi Yuqi, who lost to eventual champion Chen Long in the quarter-finals in last week's Tahoe China Open Superseries Premier in Fuzhou, came back from a game down to seal a 13-21, 21-17, 21-15 win over Lin Dan in 62 minutes.
His reward is a place in the last four against Malaysian ace Lee Chong Wei who also advanced with a 21-11, 21-12 win over world number two and second seed Son Wan-ho.
Chong Wei showed remarkable coolness in the second game to come back from 11-3 down to settle the match in straight games.
The defeat of Wan-ho means the
top two seeds in the men's singles are out of the tournament.
Top seed and world number one Viktor Axelsen of Denmark conceded a walkover in the first round due to a toe injury.
Chen Long, who seems to have rediscovered his form that won him the gold medal in last year's Rio Olympics is also through to the last four - needing only 48 minutes to beat South Korean Lee Dong Keun 21-16, 21-13.
The 28-year-old Chen Long will face Danish youngster Anders Antonsen in the semis. Antonsen won 21-15, 21-13 against Japan's Kazumasa Sakai.
The women's singles saw second seed P.V. Sindhu of India register a 21-12, 21-19 win over China Open winner Akane Yamaguchi of Japan.
The 22-year-old Sindhu was trailing 13-17 in the second game but kept her cool to snuff out the Japanese's challenge.
Sindhu will face former world number one and world champion Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand in the semi-finals on Saturday.
Intanon defeated Canada's Michelle Li 21-14, 21-16.
World number one and top seed Tai Tzu Ying made it count in straight games - 21-15, 23-21 against China's 2016 world junior champion Chen Yufei in a 37-minute encounter.
Tzu Ying plays Korean hope, third seed Sung Ji-hyun who needed three-games to beat China's seventh seed He Bingjiao 21-15, 13-21, 21-15 in an hour-long match.
World number one and top seeds Marcus Fernaldi Gideon-Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo of Indonesia defeated Malaysia's Ong Yew Sin-Tan Wee Kiong in straight games 14-21, 17-21 to stay in hunt for their second-title in two weeks.
The Indonesians who retained their China Open title last week, will next meet China's fourth seeds Li Junhui-Liu Yuchen.
The Chinese defeated Vladimir Ivanov-Ivan Sozonov 24-22, 21-11.
